About the Program
Junior Merit Scholarship for ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/GENERAL/EBC Communities, Odisha 2025-26 is an opportunity offered by the Skill Development and Technical Education Department under the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Odisha to students studying in Classes 11 and 12 from recognised institutions of the state. The scheme aims to support meritorious Higher Secondary School students of Odisha by providing them with financial assistance to help with their educational expenses. The selected students will receive an annual scholarship of ₹3,000 for a duration of two years.

What is the Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:-
- be a permanent resident of Odisha
- have passed HSC with 60% or more marks from an institution recognised by BSE Odisha, CBSE, ICSE, Equivalent Boards
- be pursuing regular studies in Class 11 (under the 10+2 system)
- have annual family income less than ₹6,00,000
The following students are not eligible for the scholarship scheme:-
- Applicants who study through distance learning or by correspondence.
- Students already receiving scholarships from other State or Central Government programs.
- Students who are studying abroad.
- Students whose records are not validated by their school's Principal during Class 11.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click on the 'Registration' button and fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note: If already registered, log in using Unique Number/Aadhaar Number and password).
Step 3: Navigate to the respective scholarship scheme i.e. 'Junior Merit Scholarship' and click 'Apply Now'.
Step 4: Click 'Register Now'
Step 5: Tick the check box and click 'Proceed'
Step 6: Enter your Aadhaar Number and click 'Send OTP'
Step 7: Enter the OTP and proceed with the registration. Once you have successfully registered, you can proceed with the application.

Benefits
A total of 10,000 meritorious students will receive an annual scholarship of ₹3,000 for a duration of two years, ensuring equal opportunities for both male and female students (i.e. Boys and girls in a 50:50 ratio).
Note:- This scholarship is renewable for those who continue their education in Class 12.

- Higher Secondary School ID card/Admission receipt/Library Card/Letter of Undertaking

Selection Criteria
Selection is based on the fulfillment of eligibility criteria and a descending order of merit based on HSC marks. In case of a tie in percentage of marks, students with lower parental income will receive preference.
