About the Program
Winnie Sun Scholarship 2025-26 is an opportunity provided by the Lotus Petal Foundation* to female students admitted to Engineering, MBBS, Nursing, BDS and Pharmacy courses. It aims to support female students by providing financial assistance throughout their academic path, empowering them to reach their full potential in higher education. The selected candidates will receive ₹65,000 per annum for the duration of the academic course to cover their Fees, living costs and books etc.
*Lotus Petal Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in November 2011 to provide equitable opportunities for underprivileged children in urban and semi-urban areas.

What is the Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be a permanent resident of India
- be a female student
- be enrolled in Engineering (B. Tech), MBBS, Nursing, BDS and Pharmacy (B. Pharm) courses in the financial year 2025-2026 in a government/private college recognised by a central or state board of education
- have taken admission in FY 25-26 are only eligible to apply for the scholarship
- have completed their Class 10 and 12 exams with a minimum of 70% marks, or are appearing for the Class 12 exams from a recognised state or central board
- have a total annual family income not exceeding ₹5,00,000 per annum
Note: At the time of final selection, candidates must submit their Class 12 marksheet with at least 70% marks. For reserved category students (SC/ST/OBC), a minimum of 60% marks is required in both Class 10 and 12.

Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a maximum of ₹65,000 per annum for the duration of the academic course to cover their educational expenses, fees, living costs, and books etc.

- Academic record/marksheet/admit card/result pertaining to Class 10 and 12
- Aadhaar card
- Photograph of the applicant
- Admit card or result of entrance exam
- Admission confirmation letter or fee paid receipt from the college for the eligible course
- Valid income proof
- For Income Tax Payer: Last three months’ payslips/I.T. assessment of the previous year/salary certificate from employer
- For Non-Income Tax Payer: Income certificate issued by zilla parishad/block/tahsildar/local government authority/signed affidavit.
Selection Criteria
The selection process includes document verification, interviews with families, potential background checks, final rankings, agreements with parents, and scholarship disbursement per college fee schedules.
More Details about this Scholarship
- Incomplete application forms will not be accepted.
- Education expenses will be paid directly to the institution upon confirmation of admission in the eligible course and submission of the mandatory documents. Other amounts will be given as an advance with a monthly cycle of reimbursement to top up based on bill submission.
- The submission of an application does not confirm the grant of a scholarship to the applicant.
- The students need to present the original copy of all the documents at the time of the interview/counselling.
- The admission letter from the college needs to be submitted before the disbursement of the scholarship. The application will be cancelled if not provided within a stipulated time.
- Qualifying for the personal interview round is mandatory for all courses.
- In the case of virtual counselling, the original documents need to be presented at the time.
