About the Program

Swansea University International Postgraduate Research Excellence Scholarship (SUIPRES) 2026  is an opportunity provided by Swansea University to international PhD and professional doctorate applicants. This scholarship supports the education of highly talented students. The selected candidates shall receive A scholarship covering the difference between international and home fee rates.

What is the Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

• be applying for an eligible PhD or Professional Doctorate programme based at Swansea University.  
• have achieved, or are expecting to achieve, a First Class or Upper Second Class (2:1) UK undergraduate degree, or an equivalent international qualification, and/or a Distinction in a UK master's degree (or international equivalent).  
• be classified as an international fee-paying student 

Ineligibility criteria:

• Current PhD or Professional Doctorate students, including returning or transfer students shall not be considered for this scholarship.
• Applicants must not be fully sponsored by a third party.
• They must not be applying for a master’s level course.
