About the Program

Kotak Junior Scholarship Program 2025-26 is an initiative of Kotak Education Foundation (KEF),  the CSR implementing agency of Kotak Mahindra Group. This transformative scholarship program has been designed to provide invaluable financial assistance and support to deserving students who have successfully completed their 10th grade from SSC/CBSE/ICSE boards within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). 

Selected students will receive a scholarship of INR 3,500 per month throughout Class 11 and Class 12, totalling INR 73,500 for 21 months. They will also receive benefits through Mentorship Support, Academic Assistance, Career Guidance, and Exposure Visits to broaden their horizons and enhance their learning experiences

About Kotak Education Foundation

The establishment of the Kotak Education Foundation (KEF) on January 14, 2007, marked a significant milestone in its mission to combat urban poverty by focusing on education and livelihood initiatives. KEF operates in economically disadvantaged areas of Mumbai, including the Deonar, Govandi, Chembur, Kurla, and Dharavi slums. 

Its core objective is to empower children and young individuals from underprivileged families through a range of educational programs and vocational skills training initiatives. The ultimate goal is to equip them with employable skills and enable them to lead a life of dignity.

KEF's scholarship program caters to meritorious students, offering not only financial assistance but also mentoring and coaching sessions. This comprehensive support aims to guide students who have completed their 10th grade to successfully complete their 12th grade and pursue higher education. 

Additionally, KEF extends its assistance to school dropouts, providing them with the necessary resources to transcend the poverty line through skill development and livelihood programs.

Working in collaboration with over 140 schools, KEF actively serves a staggering number of individuals. This includes more than 1,500 teachers and approximately one lakh students, showcasing the substantial impact of their educational initiatives.

What is the Eligibility

  • Applicants should score overall 85% or above in their Class 10 Board Examination (SSC/CBSE/ICSE) in 2025.
  • They must have secured admission in Class 11 at junior colleges/schools for Arts, Commerce or Science streams in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) for the academic year 2025-26.
  • The annual family income of applicants must be INR 3,20,000 or below.
  • Students’ current residence should be within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
  • Children of employees of Kotak Education Foundation and Buddy4Study are ineligible to apply for the Kotak Junior Scholarship.

Note: MMR regions include Mumbai Suburban & Mumbai City, Thane District-Thane, Kalyan, Dombivli, Ulhasnagar, Bhiwandi, Ambernath, Badlapur, Murbad, Shahapur, Vasai, Virar, Palghar, Raigad District -Panvel, Uran, Karjat, Khalapur, Pen, Alibag, Mira Bhayandar & Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Areas.

  • Login to Buddy4Study with your registered ID and land on the ‘Application Form Page’.
    • If not registered, register at Buddy4Study with your email/mobile number/Gmail account.
  • You will now be redirected to the ‘Kotak Junior Scholarship Program 2025-26’ application form page.
  • Click on the ‘Start Application’ button to begin the application process.
  • Fill in the required details in the online application form.
  • Upload relevant documents.
  • Accept the ‘Terms and Conditions’ and click on ‘Preview’. 
  • If all the details filled in by the applicant are correctly showing on the preview screen, click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the application process.

Note:

  • This scholarship amount will be paid on a quarterly/six-monthly basis.
  • The scholarship fund is designated solely for the purpose of academic expenses such as tuition fees, books, stationery, travel and other related educational needs.
  • The utilisation of the fund can be further tailored based on the specific requirements of the Kotak Education Foundation.
     

Required Documents

  • SSC/ICSE/CBSE Marksheet (e-copy allowed) – Mandatory
  • Income certificate (Issued by Govt. of Maharashtra or Government of India F.Y 2025-26) (उत्पन्नाचा दाखला ) – Mandatory
  • Recent passport-size photograph – Mandatory
  • Aadhar Card of both the parents and student – Mandatory
  • PAN card of at least one earning parent/guardian.
  • School leaving certificate.
  • If income tax is  paid or an IT return is  filed by any family member, then the latest copy of the IT return along with 26AS / Form 16 (Non-Mandatory)
  • Death certificate in the case of a Single parent.
  • Student’s Bank account (Bank statement or first page of bank passbook)
